February 1st petition Hearing at 6pm

The Clark County Council is holding a "public" hearing that is closed to the public and can only be attended virtually. This hearing will be vital and the Councilors could vote or wait no more than 30 days to vote to accept, reject or amend the ordinance.

"attend" the PETITION Hearing assembly

PETITION ASSEMBLY

SO, WE ARE ASSEMBLING ANYWAY... SIGN UP BELOW TO RECEIVE INFO

TUESDAY FEB 1st @ 5:30PM

Come to STAND TOGETHER! Rob will be web-conferencing in to the Council for a 10-15 min presentation and the Council will see ALL OF US, MAKING HISTORY ONCE AGAIN AS THE LARGEST GATHERING EVER FOR A COUNTY COUNCIL MEETING!

We'll broadcast the meeting on the big screen so we can watch together and we'll pipe in the phone/audio to listen in as well. You can still call in from your phone or from another location (home, etc). We just want to show the County Council the MASSIVE SUPPORT TO PASS THE PETITION ORDINANCE

WE STAND TOGETHER!

The Clark County Council meeting is TUESDAY FEBRUARY 1ST and even though it's a virtual meeting and closed to the public the Constitutional right to assemble and show the Councilors that not a few but MANY stand together calling on them to pass the ordinance to ban all mandates that discriminate.

The meeting is virtual but we'll be projecting it on the big screen and many of us will be together to call in to make public comment. Rob will also be giving his presentation from this Petition Assembly and we'll be able to talk about what we are seeing and hearing real-time.

Below is action you can still need to take but here's things to expect and plan for Tuesday.

  • If you are gathering together at the Petition Assembly, try to be there by 5:30pm (meeting starts at 6pm sharp).

  • It will most likely be a long night, maybe 3.5-6hrs long. We need as many as possible to stay and be together to show the Council this is not a small group.

  • Rob is ONLY ALLOWED 5 minutes to present the petition to the Council but it would be great for the Council to see the many many people that support. He will be webconferencing into the Council and we want them to see the support.

  • Bathrooms will be provided and we'll encourage all those that call in to make public comment to bring earbuds or earpods to listen and wait to hear "your line is unmuted." Bring phone charger or batteries because you might be on hold an hour or two.

  • We're not quite sure when public comments will actually begin. The County has scheduled other business but eventually they'll take public comments.

  • Bring snacks and drinks or a more comfortable chair (like a camping chair)

  • Dress warm!

  • IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO MAKE PUBLIC COMMENT, START CALLING AT 5:30PM. It's first come, first served and only a limited amount of people (roughly 60 or 2 hours) will be allowed to give comment so it's important that callers that support the petition call early and get first in line. They will take calls first come, first served, so we need to get in line and dominate the call-in comments.

  • We might pool together some money and buy pizzas depending on the night, etc.

PREPARE A 2 MINUTE PUBLIC COMMENT:

  • Be focused on your own experience with the discriminating mandates. Please don't talk about if vaccines or masks don't work, but please stay focused on the discrimination and mandates being harmful to our communities and families.

  • Refrain from topics of effectiveness of vaccines or masks... these are important topics but that's not the focus of the ordinance.

  • Write out your comments, time yourself and prepare. 2 minutes is a short amount of time and you'll only be able to put forth one thought or topic in your comment time allotment.

  • NO PROFANITY, NO LET'S GO BRANDON PLEASE

  • Don't address the Councilor's individually and always be respectful and give the Councilor's room to succeed. Don't prejudge them or name call.

  • You can call in from the meeting or I'm going to try to use my laptop as a podium and you can come up and give your two minutes.

It's not required but it would be best to email Rebecca.Messinger@clark.wa.gov and ask to be put on the list to give comment. If you don't email her, you can still give comment by following the instructions below.

What to do RIGHT now

Be in prayer - this is as much spiritual fight as much as a political struggle.

Be focused - The Mandate & discrimination issues are paramount and has to be at the forefront of all our efforts. First, anyone going forth needs to embrace that the Petition effort isn’t about vaccines or masks and has little language about these topics. Vaccines and masks have an important place for public discourse but the Petition effort is specifically focused on how mandates violate basic Constitutional Republic rights and discriminate, giving special rights to one group over another or denying equal access based on contrived policies or rules. The Petition is about stopping mandates that discrimination based on one’s medical health status or violates important health privacy, plain and simple.

Engage politically – To petition is a sacred right and a vital political act and we must support it to get it passed. CC Republicans have already passed resolutions calling on all elected & candidate Republicans to support the petition, but few have done so. You must contact all of your representatives and ask them to support publicly and encourage others to do so as well.

PLEASE EMAIL THESE ELECTED REPUBLICAN OFFICIALS AND ASK IF THEY WILL SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE PETITION PASSING... OR WILL THEY SUPPORT AND DEFEND DISCRIMINATING MANDATES?
